Easy Diabetic Friendly Baked Wings

Full of flavor without the added sugars, these wings will surely become a weekly favorite!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 stick butter
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • grated parmesan cheese for serving
  • fresh parsley optional, for serving
  • 4 lbs raw chicken wings not frozen

Instructions
 

  • PREP Preheat oven to 450℉. Lightly oil baking sheet with olive oil. Assemble wings on baking sheet and sprinkle with salt, pepper and garlic powder.

  • BAKE Bake wings uncovered for 50-60 minutes, until skin is crispy and internal temperature reaches 165℉. *Oven temps vary, check after 45min.
  • Toss Heat butter in a large pot over medium high heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes (don't let it burn). Turn off heat. Add cooked wings to pot, cover with lid and toss.

  • Final Touches Using tongs, remove wings from pot and spread out on baking sheet. Sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese and fresh chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

If spicy is your thing, try adding a dash of red pepper flakes! 
These easy diabetic wings are best served fresh out of the oven but they will keep nicely in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. 
For best reheating results, preheat oven to 350℉. Bring wings to room temperature while oven preheats. Bake for 7-10 minutes or until heated through, turning wings after 4 minutes.
